Dr. Alexander Alcaraz earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. He attended Harvard University to earn his degree in dental medicine (Class of 2005). Although he loved the experience of living in Boston, the warmer days in California and being close to his loved ones was too hard to resist. He moved back to California and obtained his certificate in pediatric dentistry at the University of Southern California (USC). During his program, he worked at Children's Hospital Los Angeles specializing in the oral health care of medically compromised children.
Dr. Alcaraz currently is the director for the Advance Program in Pediatric Dentistry and department co-chair of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics at USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. He is the Past President of the Pediatric Dental Association/USC. Dr. Alcaraz is very active with the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry and has served on the Board of Directors. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
